Forge

Description

Forge is a class-based multiplayer action game. The story justification for the fighting is that a few gods need to regain their power and they do so by sacrificing their followers in battles. The most important aspect is that it uses skill mechanics known from MMORPGs: Each class has nine unique abilities which have cooldown timers and are activated by pressing the associated button. However, it is still an action game because is uses free targeting and has free movement, including wall jumping. The classes are Assassin (stealth), Pathfinder (bow), Pyromancer (fire mage), Shaman (healing and buffing), Warden (tank) as well as the later patched in Tinker (uses traps to hold an area) and Ravager (a fast, mobile fighter). The abilities are balanced so players need to work together in order to be effective.

The game features four game modes: standard Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill (capturing towers), Capture the Relic (a Capture the Flag variant; the amount of points per capture is determined by how many towers the team holds) and Arena (Team Deathmatch with one life per player; another way of winning the round is to capture the tower which spawns after a few minutes). After gaining enough experience, players level up and can improve their resistances, speed or energy (required to jump, block and sprint) and unlock more abilities. The character's offensive effectiveness does not improve.

While the game is primarily a competitive game, there also bots available to play against (either alone or together with multiple players).
