Galaxy of Games: Gold Edition

Galaxy of Games: Gold Edition is a compilation of casual and special edition games. It is one in a series of compilations in the Galaxy of Games range that are denoted by a different colour, there are Green, Red, and Silver editions and others.

When the CD is inserted it runs automatically installing a menu system for the compilation and nothing more. When a game is selected for the first time it is installed, later selections from the same menu will then run the game. The menu system also has a link to eGames' web site where more demo games were available, a help section which has information on some games but for most says 'See the in-game Help section', and a Tools section which will install DirectX 7.0

SE in the above list denotes a Special Edition, Shareware Edition or Standard Edition - the meaning of the initials varies from game to game but in essence this version has fewer levels than the full game.

Some of these games were released as full titles by eGames, Inc., Puzzle Master being one such example. Though the packaging promises an "ALL NEW" collection this is slightly misleading, while this combination of games may be unique most, if not all, of the games have appeared in other compilations from eGames. For example Galaxy of Games: Green Edition contains Chinese Checkers, Champion Chess, Galaxy Video Poker, Old West Poker and Roulette Fever while Casino Jackpot 2 contains all Casino games in this Gold Edition.
