Game of the Maccabees

Game of the Maccabees is a religious themed arcade game.

The player takes on the role of the Maccabees as they attempt their revolt against the Seleucid king. The player controls a spear thrower on the left who must defeat enemy spear throwers on the right of the screen. The player can move vertically up and down. The player starts with three lives, but can earn extra characters by correctly answering religious themed questions. Each enemy character is guarded by a shield, which can be destroyed. There are a total of ten enemies in four locations, and the enemies respawn until all are destroyed. Intermittently an elephant moves across the far right of the screen, which can be destroyed for bonus points.
