Girl Talk: Awesome

Girl Talk or Girl Talk - Girls Are Amazing to give it its current full tag-lined title is a magazine made for, well, girls specifically pre-teen girls aged seven to eleven for which it claims to be the UK's top title. Each issue has it's own theme such as Have The Coolest Winter Ever! (Dec 2015), Meet The Most Huggable Star Pets! (Sept 2015), ! Cuteness Overload - Why Ariana is 100% Perfect (Sept 2020) and so on. Each magazine comes in a plastic wrap and always seems to contain a free gift.

Girl Talk: Awesome is a promotional title from 2008 when the magazine's tag-lined title was Girl Talk - Where Girls Get Together, it's not clear whether this was issued with an early Girl Talk magazine, included with another magazine from the same publisher - they also issue the Top Of The Pops magazine among others, or something else.

The CD autoruns on the PC and assembles it's main menu, a sort of photo collage, piece by piece while some bright lift-music plays. It's a fixed resolution image with a bright pink background and, as there are no configuration settings, on a larger screen it is surrounded by thick black borders. The activities on this disc are;* iCarly: iCarly is a US teen sitcom that ran from 2007 to 2012 about a girl who starts her own web TV show. This section features; + Videos: There are two clips to watch, a 'Behind The Scenes' clip which shows the recording of the show's theme song and a short clip from the show

+ Print Outs: These are three pencil-and-paper games to be printed and played away from the computer, they are Anagrams, Spot The Difference and Wordsearch

+ Downloads: These are not downloads from the internet but from the disc, there are three wallpaper images in three sizes and four 'buddy icons'.

+ Character Guides: Five static screens each showing a picture of one of the show's characters together with a short biography.

+ Game: This is an interactive Wordsearch game in which the player has to find twenty words in an eighteen by eighteen grid. The game is mouse controlled and timed, it must be completed in five minutes, unusually players can lose points by making a mistake.

• Contest: This is a chance to vote in the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2008 with a chance to win tickets to the event.

• Movies: This contains trailers for the then current movies Wall-E, prince Caspian, Kung Fu Panda and Wild Child as well as trailers for the soon-to-be-released Tales of Despereaux, Hotel For Dogs and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa

• High School Musical 2: This is a collection of promotional material for the games of the film.

  • To promote the film High School Musical 2 there is desktop wallpaper available in three sizes; a printable poster available in two sizes, a printable sun visor, two printable pencil-and-paper games Wordsearch and Anagrams, printable door hangers.

  • To promote the Wii game High School Musical: Sing It there is a video trailer for the game that mixes game footage with live action.

  • There's also a video trailer to promote the Nintendo DS game High School Musical 2: Work This Out!

  • At the bottom of the screen is a separate High School Musical related link which gives players the chance to enter an e-mail contest to win a Nintendo DS and a copy of the game High School Musical 2: Work This Out!.

• TinkerBell: At the top of the menu there is a picture of the cute fairy that links to promotional material the for Nintendo DS game Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell. Here there is box art, printable bookmarks, printable puzzles - a maze and a foldable fortune teller; and six wallpapers this time with no size options.

• Hannah Montana: This link is on the right of the menu and it promotes both the Nintendo DS version and Wii version of Hannah Montana: Music Jam. There are:

  • box art images

  • An interactive ten question quiz. All questions are multiple choice and Hannah Montana related

  • Video trailers for both versions of the game

  • Two wallpapers - one for Hannah Montana: Music Jam and one for Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour - both available in three sizes

  • Four pencil-and-paper games Wordsearch, Anagrams, Maze and Spot The Difference

  • Four printable door hangers

• DVD Fun: At the bottom of the main menu screen is the DVD FUN! Link which promotes two films,

  • There is an interactive presentation for the film Spiderwick Chronicles comprising two film clips; three desktop wallpapers; poster art; three pencil-and-paper puzzles Wordsearch, Spot The Difference and Anagrams; and a character guide

  • The other featured film is Nim's Island for which there is a trailer and two clips from the film
