Grim Joggers

Game cover: Grim Joggers

Description

This game puts a spin on the Canabalt formula of rightward-running-man-traversing-obstacles-until-he-dies, by making the running man into a whole pack of joggers, foolishly aiming to improve their cardiovascular fitness in some of the most hostile environments known to man -- starting in the jungle, peak performers unlock the opportunity to jog and die in a mine, in the arctic, in the trenches of WWI, and in a future sci-fi nightmare world.

In addition to the universal constant of bottomless pits, every perilous world is full of its own set of unique and fitting hazards. At the player's disposal is one move -- tapping the screen yields a jump, which can be compounded to a double-jump, and also to the player's general favor is the joggers' tendency to have slight variances in the timing of their jump, meaning often the player is directing two streams of joggers on different platform levels simultaneously -- and a trap that decimates one group of them will be bypassed entirely by the other.

When every jogger in the group has died, play ends and the game calculates how many calories were burned by the frivolous extinguishing of these amateur athletes' lives.
