Haunted House

Haunted House is a speed typing and guessing game for the TRS-80.

You have been magically transported to a room somewhere within the gloomy interior of a haunted mansion.

At the beginning of the game, the player can choose either a cross to ward off vampires, a cane to defend from werewolves, or a candle to defeat ghosts. The player must escape through a predetermined number of rooms, and each room has three exits. One exit is safe, while the other two contain either a ghost, a vampire, or a werewolf. If the player encounters an enemy they do not have the correct warding device for, they must quickly type the appropriate defensive spell: "stake" for vampires, "light" for ghosts, or "fleas" for werewolves. If the player misspells the word, or does not type fast enough, they are defeated and it's game over. The player must try to escape through all rooms to freedom.
