Haunted House

Haunted House is an action game in which the player takes the role of Joe Kowalski who must find his way through 16 rooms to get out of his nightmare. This is made difficult for him by floating eyeballs, Frankie, Dracula, fire, blood dripping from paintings, spirits, goblins and even the terrifying Brainiac. To get out of each room he has to find the clue to the hidden passages and secret stairs and use the keys to open the doors.

To destroy each enemy, Joe can crush them with a falling block or by throwing a silver ball. By pressing F1 he can throw the silver ball. Special items can also be used to defeat enemies such as a candle against bats, blood flowers and dripping fire or a rosary against the coffin, etc. To collect items, Joe has to walk over them. The player can see at the bottom right of the screen which items are in his possession. There are also switches that can be used by jumping up to reach them.

At the bottom of the screen, near the score, the upper part of a skeleton can be seen containing a red and quietly beating heart. If Joe has multiple contacts with some monsters, the heart changes color and starts to beat faster. Too much contact with them will lead to a heart attack. And one life will be lost. The player has four lives throughout the game and 100 seconds per room.
