Hot Shocker

Hot Shocker is a 2D maze-chase game set in a octagonal web of wires representing a telephone network. You control Dudley, the world's most dedicated line man, as he connects up all of the wires in the network and changes the colours of the lines. While you do this, you have to deal with gooney birds who get in your way and will temporarily incapacitate you if they run into you. There are also hot spots and short circuits which will fatally zap Dudley. The hot spots move about the network, while the short circuits briefly appear at the outlets around the outside of the network. As you work, your amount of remaining telephone wire runs down and you lose a life if it runs out.

Woodley is an assistant who occasionally turns up. With his help you can temporarily speed up your work and deal with the hot spots and gooney birds. Dispatching one of these foe will gain you additional telephone wire. Once the network has been fully connected, the level is complete. A bonus round between levels is a reflex game. It has Dudley falling from a tower and you gain extra points if you can catch him before he hits the ground. The next level then starts with a higher level of difficulty.
