Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

Description
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is a third-person hack-and-slash action game set in the world of The Legend of Zelda. It takes place during the Imprisoning War, expanding on events only briefly depicted in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Players command warriors from ancient Hyrule in large-scale battles against Ganondorf's armies, combining fast-paced combat with character progression and light strategic elements.
The game centers on Princess Zelda as the main protagonist, alongside Rauru, Mineru, and the other sages of her era. Each fighter possesses distinct weapons and combat styles. Mineru combines melee strikes with Zonai technology, Rauru wields light-based attacks, and Gerudo warriors use electrified blades. The roster also includes new characters such as Calamo, a Korok hero, and a Zonai construct that serves as a mechanical counterpart to Link. Combat emphasizes chaining attacks, executing perfect dodges, and triggering Sync Strikes: coordinated finishers unique to specific character pairings.
Missions unfold across the surface, skies, and depths of Hyrule, where players capture outposts, defeat captains, and complete objectives to advance the war effort. Zonai devices add tactical variety, enabling elemental interactions such as freezing water or igniting terrain. Between battles, characters can enhance weapons, unlock upgrades, and craft new abilities using resources gained in combat.
While its structure follows the traditional Warriors formula of large-scale skirmishes and character-driven campaigns, Age of Imprisonment focuses on exploring the historical struggle that shaped Hyrule’s future, framing its battles as part of a generational effort to contain Ganondorf"s power and preserve the kingdom’s legacy.
