Isaki Shūgorō no Keiba Hisshōgaku
Description
This is a gambling game specifically on the sport of horse racing, appropriately bearing the (stage) name of television horse racing commentator Isaki Shūgorō. You start with 4 million JPY at the start of a new year and your goal is to reach 100 million JPY in winning prizes by the end of the year. There are 11 races per month. To help you make an informed bet, you can preview the line up of the next race, preview the horse stats, consult with 4 horse racing critics, preview the betting odds, hear out tipsters and take out loans from the bank (if you want to make a bet larger than the amount you have on hand). Loans in this game all have their terms end on the last race of the year, at which point they are deducted from your final balance. You have a notebook to keep track of your gambling budget, the loans you currently hold, the bets you are currently making, your betting records and past race results.
When you are ready, you go to the betting window where you can make a traditional single winner bet, a Quinella bet or a show bet. You also have to come back here if you win to actually collect your winnings. In order to advance time, you have to proceed to the racetrack to watch the race.
