It's the Pits

It's the Pits is a 1-player arcade game for the Apple II.

The player controls a small creature named Grimpet, who can move in the 4 cardinal directions. The player tries to eat all of the plums on the level without touching the fiery pits which will cause a loss of life for the player. Flying about the level are the Wirlybats, which will carry off the Grimpet if they come in direct contact, costing the player a life. The player completes a level by eating all the fruit, and levels become progressively more difficult by adding more Wirlybats. A helmet is present on each level, which will protect the player from one Wirlybat attack. The player starts with 3 lives, and if all are lost it's game over.
