Josefin: Skolhjälp - Matematik 3: Summa Summarum
Description
Josefin: Skolhjälp - Matematik 3: Summa Summarum is an educational game teaching math to children aged six to twelve. Math problems consist of the basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, sometimes combined with number series and time/clock queries.
This game was originally published by Krea Medie in Denmark as Pixeline Skolehjælp: Lær om Regning – Talmesterens labyrint with a different set of characters, and later reworked for the Pinjata (Josefine) franchise (developed by Pinjata from 1996-2006, and by Krea Media from 2007 onwards).
The premise is that the anthropomorphic rabbit Josefin and three of her friends are located in a medieval-style castle area, belonging to a math-obsessed magician. In the magician's castle is a maze-like series of rooms where the exits are blocked by an assistant to the magician intending to stop the party from leaving.
Each room has three sets of math problems to solve, and the player is required to choose numbers from a grid to fill in missing parts of the calculations. After a series of problems are solved, the opponent disappears, and the party exits to the next room, and are also rewarded with some monetary payment. After five rooms are completed, the magician himself is attempting to stop the party in similar fashion to his assistants, and if all problems are solved correctly, the party exits back to the entrance to the maze.
Failure to solve the problems will put the team members in a jail cell, but getting out is easy, there are several items in the cell to try, and the team is placed back in the maze where they failed. The player can always leave the game if needed, and the game is autosaved for the next attempt.
The game can be played several times, accumulating the score (treasure) and has three difficulty settings. Several save games can be used for multiple players, but only one players save slot is active at the time.
