Joust 2: Survival of the Fittest

The followup to Joust, where players take control of a knight with a lance who rides a flying ostrich like avian to do battle against computer-controlled evil knights who ride atop buzzards.

Like its predecessor it allow for two simultaneous players, where sometimes players are rewarded for co-operation, but sometimes competition pays off. Players must flap their steed's wings using a fire button and move left and right to hit the enemy from a higher jousting point to destroy the buzzard and its rider. Once the enemy has been hit, an egg falls. The knight must pick up the eggs before they hatch and release new and increasingly more difficult knights. A new feature is that the player's steed can transform into a pegasus that has better offensive powers than the regular steed, but the flying characteristics are not as good.

The game runs on a updated Williams hardware similar to the game Inferno, allowing for improved sound and visuals.
