Katte ni Shirokuma: Mori o Sukue no Maki

Description

Shiro the albino bear is chosen by God to be the forest's hero. He joins up with Uribō the boar and Choshi-chan the dormouse to save the forest from the "Demon King of the forest".

This video game adaptation of Katte ni Shirokuma is a combination of a JRPG and a Japanese-style adventure game. Experience point in this game is called IQ, supposedly indicating Shiro getting smarter with each combat encounter. The combat system is very simple, consisting of only an attack command, a "negotiate peace" command and a flee command. Shiro & company traverse the forest in a bird's eye view like Legend of Zelda, one fixed screen at a time. In this view, time will pass through seasons, which affect whether an event can trigger or not.

The adventure gameplay plays out much like other Japanese-style adventure, with a list of actions to do next to a first-person view. Notably, Shiro has a "defecate" action that seemingly doesn't do anything to help you progress the story and only exists to provoke humorous reactions.
