Description

Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World is an enhanced re-release of the 2022 Nintendo Switch title Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The game serves as both a technical upgrade and an expansion of the original adventure. It offers improved performance on the new hardware, running at 60 frames per second in 4K resolution in TV mode or 1080p in handheld and tabletop modes. The game is available either as a standalone upgrade for existing owners of the original release or bundled together on a single Game Card.

The central addition is Star-Crossed World, a new storyline unlocked after completing the Natural Plains area. This scenario introduces a meteor impact that scatters mysterious creatures called Starries across the world map. These new “Starry Stages” feature tougher enemy variants and additional platforming challenges. Among the new foes is Galactal, alongside crystal-powered versions of returning mid-bosses such as Fleurina and Wild Edge, which exhibit higher health, stronger attacks, and enhanced visual effects.

In addition to expanded stage content, several new Mouthful Modes are introduced exclusively in this edition, giving Kirby further transformations to aid in exploration and combat. The cast is also expanded with new NPCs, including Astronomer Waddle Dee, who studies the fallen meteor and trades Starry Coins for EX Figures, and Star Guide Waddle Dee, who provides advice on uncleared stages. Collectibles receive an update as well, with 86 new EX Figures added across two volumes, obtainable through exploration or via Astronomer Waddle Dee’s shop.

Beyond the story expansion, the Nintendo Switch 2 edition includes refinements across multiple features. A new Colosseum challenge, The Ultimate Cup Z EX, pits players against crystal mid-bosses and a strengthened form of Chaos Elfilis known as “Lord of Chaos.” Waddle Dee Town sees adjustments such as a designated map location for Point of Arrival, additional music options at Waddle Live! Corner Stage, and updated emotes and voice clips for Kirby. Smaller quality-of-life fixes include corrected text strings, a redesigned HUD layout for the Waddle Dee counter, and minor adjustments to foreign-language versions.
