For a study into poverty among working Dutch people, RTL News spoke to dozens of individuals facing challenges in managing their finances on their salary. Their fixed costs are high, leaving little or nothing remaining each month for clothing or recreational activities. The experiences and dilemmas of these individuals have been incorporated into a game where the player can observe the difficulties that may arise.

Can the player make it to the end of the month without going into the red? The game begins with a full salary, but various unforeseen expenses can occur. The player can opt to play as a single person or as a family with two children.
