Ladder Maze

Ladder Maze is a 1st-person 3D maze game for the BBC Micro. The player must explore a large maze in search of their only escape, the matter transmitter. To activate the matter transmitter, the player must first find the activation key. Numerous useful items are located throughout the maze, including: maps, flashlights, cube blasters, and ladders.

Inside of the maze are numerous pits, and falling into one causes the game to end. These can be crossed with ladders that are found on the floor throughout the maze, but there is a risk of falling off the ladder. It is also possible to fill gaps with the cube blaster, but this has a limited number of shots. Doors can be opened, and flashlights illuminate darkened areas of the maze. Forcefields can rearrange the player's inventory causing the activation key to disappear. The map shows an overhead view of the entire level. There are 10 levels of maze difficulty available.
