Looney Lifts

Looney Lifts is a 1-player arcade game for the BBC Micro.

The player functions as the elevator manager at a fancy hotel. If management receive three complaints from the guests, then the player is going to be out of a job.

The hotel consists of 11 floors, and the player's job is to raise and lower the elevator to pick up guests one at a time and bring them to the bottom floor of the hotel. Because the guests don't like the player, if the elevator isn't waiting, the guests will run past the elevator and descend one floor on their own. Hotel doors will light up before new guests come out.

To make matters worse, the old hotel has developed holes in the floor and guests will fall down one level if they cross a hole. The player can make the guests jump to help them clear some holes. If a guests reaches the bottom floor without assistance they lodge a complaint.

Furthermore, luggage appears on the conveyor belt at the bottom of the screen. If the elevator is not waiting at the bottom when luggage reaches the end of the belt, then the player receives a complaint.

Special green VIP quests are worth 2,000 points, and yellow managers will reduce the complaint level if helped. Three complaints, and it's game over.
