Magical Hōshin

In the sage training school of Gyokuchuudo, the apprentice Sora and his friends Marin and Saiten have a go at treasure hunting. However they come across an artifact called the Book of Paopee, which the unleashed demons seek to obtain. Sora's party undertake a quest to repel the demon invasion and create an army of Paopee soldiers, before the demons revive their great Dakki and overwhelm the human world.

The game's mechanics have typical JRPG elements including exploring towns, shops and services, random battle encounters with turn-based fighting, and grinding experience to improve the character's stats. However the main gimmick of the game is gathering materials and making use of the large golden Paopee boxes, which serve as additional party members in battle, but also consume magic points when used.
