Mare Nostrum

Mare Nostrum is a first-person action add-on for Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, expanding the game's scope to the North African, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern theaters of World War II. It presents a distinct setting defined by arid deserts, urban zones, and coastal combat arenas, and incorporates new national forces, including British, Australian, German, and Italian units - each with regionally authentic character voices.

Multiplayer gameplay closely follows the mechanics of the parent game: players assume the roles of infantry or tank crew in team-based matches where objectives generally revolve around attacking or defending strategic zones. The mod features a range of equipment: players can wield historically accurate weapons - such as Thompson submachine guns, Bren guns, and SMLE rifles - and operate fully realized vehicles, including early‑war German armor and Italian models like the M13/40. Its environments vary between tight, gritty urban streets and expansive desert battlefields, offering diverse tactical scenarios.
