Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing 18

Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing 18 is another entry in the long running series. It features lessons, a practice area, and reports, but also features multiple games.

The gameplay in most of these games is rather similar; the player will be given a long series of words, and have to type them in quickly with minimal errors. The differences are usually in the presentation.

• Chameleon Picnic: A chameleon eating ants.
• Space Junk: A spaceship that needs to destroy incoming debris.
• Check-Out Time: Scanning items at the supermarket. (This trains 10-key usage.)
• Road Race: Driving down the road.
• Pirate Race: A pirate ship travels across the screen.
• Gumball Gambit: A gumball machine colors gumballs.
• Far Off Adventures: An airship crosses the ocean. (This trains typing rhythm; typing fast but out of rhythm is bad.)
• Creature Lab: Build a hybrid creature using DNA from various animals. The resulting abomination will be shown at the end.
• Shark Attack: The player finds an underwater treasure chest.
• Undersea Karaoke: Type letters to play notes. (Only the next letter is displayed when playing; there is a time limit.)
