Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing! Version 2.0 is an educational typing game. Similar to Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing! it has lessons to teach typing, starting with simple home row training, and moving to full paragraphs over time. Both QWERTY and Dvorak keyboards are supported. Multiple users can use the same program, and progress can be shown with graphs.
New in version 2.0 are improved graphics, a teacher mode to easily track the progress of multiple students, and a 10-key teaching mode. This mode is similar to the standard lessons, but just for fast entry of numbers on a computer keypad.
Two games are included with this release. The racing game from the original release returns, where the player needs to quickly type to speed ahead of the second car. Also, a grocery store game has been added for 10-key training. Here, groceries will move down a checkout conveyor belt. When they hit the scanner, the scanner will list the price, and the player will have a short time to correctly enter the price given. If correct, the grocery item will continue to the bag. If incorrect, the grocery item will fall on the ground.
