Melt Down

Melt Down is a nuclear reactor simulation for the TRS-80.

You are the commander of a nuclear power plant. A random disaster will arise, and you have to perform the correct commands to prevent the reactor from melting down. If you fail, all life in a 200 mile radius will be eliminated.

Gameplay demonstrated 9 separate gauges: water level, core temperature, room temperature, water pressure, critical mass level, control rod level, turbine speed, radiation level, and emergency core cooling. Some disaster will occur, causing the gauges to become abnormal. The player must quickly input commands to fix the problem, and the game tracks the time required to solve it.

There are 5 levels of difficulty, which define the type of problem and the available time to solve it.
