Mission Moonbase

Mission Moonbase is a combination arcade and adventure game for the Dragon 32/64.

Having gone to Moonbase Archimedes to help stabilize Strontium 98 mined from the previous Death Mines of Sirus, the player discovers that the Moon transporter driver has been murdered.

In the arcade section, the player takes part in a sidescrolling mission with a moon buggy. The buggy can shoot vertically upwards, jump, and roll along the ground, speeding up and slowing down. The player must jump over mines and holes on the ground, while also avoiding or shooting down enemy spaceships that descend from the sky. The player must refuel by jumping into fueling blocks. As the player jumps, their vehicle's stability decreases, and too many jumps or hits from alien vseesls will cause the moon vehicle to explode. The player must pass a total of 40 zones to receive the password for the next section.

This allows the player to enter the text adventure component. In this section the player must solve the mystery of the moonbase where Strontium-98 is stabilized. All commands here are via VERB NOUN entry. During this section the player must also pilot a spaceship by typing commands, and engage in combat with dangers from the sky.
