Monaco 2

Description
Monaco 2 is a cooperative heist game and the sequel to Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine (2013). Building upon the core gameplay of its predecessor, Monaco 2 introduces updated visuals, new mechanics, and expanded multiplayer functionality. The game retains its emphasis on team-based stealth and strategy, while offering greater flexibility and replayability.
Set in the city-state of Monaco, the game follows a group of international thieves who are drawn into a series of escalating heists. After stealing a valuable violin, the crew is blackmailed by a powerful crime boss into performing various jobs across the city. Players choose from a roster of eight characters, each with unique abilities that influence their role in a heist.
Gameplay is mission-based, with objectives typically involving theft, sabotage, or data extraction, followed by an escape. Missions can be played solo or cooperatively with up to four players, either locally or online. Progress is shared across single-player and multiplayer modes.
Monaco 2 retains the diagonal-down stealth-action gameplay of the original, but transitions to a 3D perspective with updated polygonal graphics. Players navigate complex environments filled with guards, security systems, and collectibles. A new Blueprint Mode allows players to preview level layouts before starting a mission, aiding in team planning and coordination. There are also procedurally generated level variants through the "Unreliable Narrator" mode, as well as Daily heists and challenge missions for extended replayability.
There are eight playable characters, each with distinct skills and roles. Each character can interact with the environment—picking locks, disabling alarms, and evading guards—but their special abilities provide tactical advantages. For example, one character may deploy a drone, while another may distract guards with a pet.
Levels incorporate a line-of-sight mechanic, where enemy positions are only visible when in range or line of sight. Players collect coins during missions, which can be used to purchase tools such as lockpicks, smoke bombs, and healing kits.
The game introduces a lives system, where players can be revived by teammates if incapacitated. Checkpoints are frequent, and players can switch characters mid-mission to better suit changing needs.
