Monobeno: Happy End
Description
Monobeno: Happy End is a remake of the Japanese adult fantasy visual novel Monobeno which essentially gives everyone a happy ending. Parts of Sumi and Alice's routes, which were perceived to have given the main heroine Natsuha a bad ending, have been rewritten, and brand new stories for Sumi, Alice, Natsuha, and Hishakaku have been added. In addition, many more H-scenes have been inserted throughout the game, along with a switch to allow the player to disable the scenes depicting Natsuha's age transformation.
Like the original game, Monobeno: Happy End takes place in the village of Monobeno, where humans and youkai coexist. The player controls Tooru Sawai, a university student who has returned to Monobeno along with his little sister, Natsuha, to reunite with old friends and visit the local festival dedicated to the village deity. While watching the festivities, Natsuha suddenly falls ill with a strange affliction and her body begins to change. Over the next few days, her body transforms, alternating between being the body of a little girl and the body of a woman, though her mind remains unchanged. As she is powerless to prevent her transformation, Tooru vows to find a cure.
The gameplay consists of periodically making decisions which may cause the story to branch into different routes and result in different endings. Tooru can romantically pursue his sister, Natsuha, or some of the other female characters, such as his childhood friend Alice Arishima or a child-like youkai named Sumi.
