N.O.V.A. 3: Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance

N.O.V.A.: Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance 3 is a side scrolling platform shooter. It's the second 2D game in the N.O.V.A. series and based upon the smartphone game with the same name. The player once again controls the war hero Kal Wardin who fights the alien Volterites in locations ranging from a ruined San Francisco to the aliens' home planet.

The game mostly plays the same as the original 2D N.O.V.A. with the player moving around on foot and shooting everything that moves. There are some new features such as new abilities and a new weapon in the form of a sniper rifle. New abilities include a force attack that pushes objects or enemies away and a radio controlled robot that is used to reach faraway places. There are also sections where the player is able to pilot a mech as well as space based levels. These work completely differently from the main game and uses a chase view similar to Space Harrier.
