Oil-Rig

Game cover: Oil-Rig

Description

Oil Rig is a real-time 1-player managerial simulation for the Apple II.

The player takes control of an oil company for a period of 10 - 40 years, with the goal to maximize profit. Gameplay occurs in real time, with monthly changes in oil prices. The player can buy and sell resources including: crude, shale, refined oil, kerosene, gas, and petrol products. The player must also purchase equipment to run an oil company, including: drill rigs, oil rigs, a refinery, pipeline, tankers, trucks, and oil platforms.

The player can prospect for oil on the prospecting map, and when oil is located, can use their drill rig to drill in that location for oil, which can be sold for profit. Crude oil must be transported to market, and can be refined for profit.

If the player at any time attempts to purchase more than they can afford, their company immediately dissolves into bankruptcy, and the game is lost.
