Phantom of Inferno

Game cover: Phantom of Inferno

Description

Phantom of Inferno is an edited version of the original PC game of the same name. It features the same overall story, but has a different script written by Yukihito Nonaka, Hideki Shirane, and Masashi Suzuki with oversight from the original writer, Gen Urobuchi. Like its predecessor, it is an adult visual novel where the player's decisions determine the outcome of the story. It has updated graphics and full voice acting for all characters, but lacks the original game's sexual content.

Like the original game, the story follows a boy who awakens as a prisoner of a shadowy organization with no memories of his past. His captors introduce themselves as members of Inferno, an international syndicate of the world's most ruthless assassins. Seeing potential in the boy, Inferno offers him the choice to be trained in the art of killing and join their ranks, or to die then and there. After the boy, who henceforth becomes known as "Zwei", begins his training, he learns that killing is not as straightforward as it sounds, and experiences romance and betrayal as he moves through Inferno's ranks and uncovers his true identity.
