Physicus: Die Rückkehr

Description

Physikus: Die Rückkehr is an educational adventure game for PC that blends interactive storytelling with foundational lessons in physics. Designed primarily for players aged twelve and up, the game serves as both an entertaining fantasy experience and a structured learning tool. It is the sequel to Physicus: Save the World with Science!, expanding on the original's premise with a more comprehensive integration of scientific content.

The narrative begins with the mysterious crash of a meteorite on Earth, triggering a series of eerie and unexplained events. The impact zone has been quarantined, laboratories lie abandoned, and rumors hint at possible extraterrestrial involvement. Players are tasked with uncovering the truth behind the meteorite’s arrival, embarking on a mission that involves navigating a fantastical, science-infused world.

Gameplay is divided between traditional point-and-click adventure mechanics and educational modules. Players explore richly illustrated environments reminiscent of Myst, solving a wide variety of puzzles that require an understanding of physics concepts. Integrated throughout the game are interactive lessons and animations covering key topics such as electricity, mechanics, acoustics, atomic physics, relativity, thermodynamics, and optics. These lessons are accessible via an in-game menu and can be explored in parallel with the adventure segments.
