Pinball FX

Pinball FX is a single player pinball game, the Windows version of which is entirely keyboard controlled though the mouse is used for menu navigation.
The base Windows game comes with three tables, it is possible that the free tables may vary with platform, date and location but when played in the UK in early 2024 these were Wild West Rampage, Sorcerer's Lair and Fish Tales. The first two are 'Zen Originals' which means they are not based on physical tables whereas Fish Tales was released by the Williams company in 1992 and was one of the top twenty best selling tables they ever made. Additional tables can be bought from the in-game shop.

The controls for each table are the same LEFT & Right Shift for the flippers, ENTER to fire the ball with other keys being used for nudges and special features. Each table has a table guide and an option to position the camera manually.
Each table has a leader board which shows the All Time, Weekly and Local highest scores, while playing messages appear whenever the player sets a new personal record. Some tables have different game modes for example Sorcerer's Lair has the Classic mode which is the highest score in a three ball game, Arcade mode which is the highest score with a single ball - this can be played with 'special powers', Hotseat mode which is a time challenge and a practice mode. Additionally there are Normal and Challenging game play options.

It is possible to play tables that are not owned by entering various tournaments and each table played has one or more collectable items to unlock these are displayed on shelves in the player's Pinball Hall, the game has a 'Welcome' reward just to start the ball rolling
