Princess Waltz

Princess Waltz is a Japanese adult fantasy visual novel and role-playing game with sexual content. The story follows Arata Fukamori, a young man who considered himself a normal student until his curiosity about a new classmate, the androgynous Chris Northfield, led him to discover that Chris was actually the prince of the magical world of Eldhiland. Every time a new emperor ascends to the throne of Eldhiland, a competition is held to select his queen in the form of a tournament named the Princess Waltz in which princesses from all across Eldhiland use magical dresses and tiaras to duel for the right to ascend to the throne. For unknown reasons, Chris has joined the latest Princess Waltz in disguise as Princess Iris, and Arata is dragged into the contest as Iris's supporter. Throughout the story, Arata gets to know the princesses while exploring romantic feelings and avoiding danger.

The player assumes the role of Arata as he helps Chris to defeat their opponents in the Princess Waltz. Much of the game plays like a visual novel where the player can periodically make decisions that can influence the narrative's direction. The game features multiple routes and endings, depending on the choices made throughout the story. The story is divided into twenty chapters and features five heroines that the player can romance, each with their own story route to play through.

The role-playing aspect comes into play during battles, which take the form of a card game where the player and opponent's combat abilities are represented by cards. Experience points gained from winning battles can be used to customize the player character or purchase skill upgrades and special cards which can be used in future battles.
