Ready, Set, Read with Bananas & Jack

Game cover: Ready, Set, Read with Bananas & Jack

Description

Ready, Set, Read with Bananas & Jack (or rebranded Beginning Reading) is a sequel to Alphabet Blocks. It is also an educational game, but now for a slightly grown-up child to learn recognizing simple words and sounds of two letters; combining word parts into new words; rhyming; alphabetizing, and reading stories. Accompanied by the same familiar talking coaches, Bananas (the monkey) or Jack (the jack-in-the-box), the player enters the playhouse with six doors leading to playrooms with different mini-games as follows:

  • Alphabet order;
  • Build words;
  • Rhymes;
  • Sight words;
  • Story reading;
  • Two-letter sounds.

In each mini-game the player receives a question from the coach and should click or drag-n-drop the correct answer. There is no negative reinforcement for incorrect responses. Instead, the coach helps the player select the correct answer by reducing the number of available choices after a certain amount of time. Correct answers are rewarded with smiles and verbal encouragement. Different animated surprises are awaiting if the player makes a correct response on the first attempt. When the player has made all correct responses, the mini-game is over. Parents can also customize the game's environment to best suit the needs of the player.
