Rig 'n' Roll

Description

In Rig'n'Roll, which is set in 2014, the player takes the role of a young trucker who goes to the independent California to find his luck. He receives a forwarding agency and 25.000 dollar starting funds from his friend Matthew.

The majority of the game is similar to other truck simulations: in their agency, players can accept missions to earn money. They to forward goods of different sensitivities to other places in California within a set time limit. Because of the game's aspiration to be a simulation, players can control all important parts of their truck themselves, like the side mirrors or the cruise control, and they have to abide by the traffic laws. If they violate them, the police will chase them and fine them if they manage to catch up (which is more than likely to happen with a truck).

The game is designed to be an open world experience. Players have the freedom to freely explore the state to do additional tasks, like repairing their truck in a workshop, filling up gas, picking up hitchhikers or visiting bars to get additional missions. This includes races against other truckers. Another unusual feature is the background story, which is about Matthew getting involved with people on the wrong side of the law. Story missions include for example chasing after gangsters or getting into an illegal racing club. The 13 trucks are licensed.
