Runimalz

Runimalz is a toy-to-life game that combines a racing title with RPG elements. It is aimed at children aged four to fourteen. While the app can be downloaded and played for free, it is meant to be paired with a physical control board that is purchased separately. In addition there are several Runimalz that can be purchased separately, real-world toys used to bring it into the game. During levels the board is used to adjust the speed and the creatures in-game to use their abilities and get past obstacles. During several levels challenges need to be completed and various currencies are earned to progress, including coins, gems and stars.

The physical board was initially sold as a starter pack along with three creatures (Calengol, Fenrir and Goliath) . Each creature has different characteristics and abilities. Players can also purchase real-world spinners used to level up the creatures. No separate TV or screen is needed as the board has room to fit the smartphone or tablet. The game supports online asynchronous multiplayer, unlocked after completing the first six levels.
