Sesame Street: Elmo's Preschool

Description

Sesame Street: Elmo’s Preschool is an educational game designed for young children, featuring Elmo from the long-running television series Sesame Street. The game combines entertainment and learning, with Elmo acting as both tutor and playmate as preschoolers practice early skills such as number, letter, shape, and color recognition, as well as spelling, sound identification, and basic problem solving.

The program is divided into five themed playrooms, each focusing on a specific preschool concept:

  • Music Room – games like “Find a Sound” and “Finish a Sound Pattern”
  • Letters Room – activities such as “Find a Letter” and “Make an Animal Name”
  • Face Treehouse – emotional awareness games like “Make a Face” and “How Would You Feel?”
  • Shapes and Colors Tent – recognition activities such as “Find a Shape”
  • Numbers Clubhouse – number-based games including “Find a Number” and “The Counting Game”

Each room contains two structured activities as well as unstructured free-play, allowing children to explore concepts at their own pace. Activities can be visited in any order and revisited at any time. Difficulty levels adjust automatically to match a child’s progress, and optional “star” (easy) and “moon” (hard) versions of each game provide additional variety.

Several built-in support features are designed to encourage learning without giving away answers. “Smart Help” provides step-by-step guidance from Sesame Street characters, “Smart Host” keeps Elmo on screen to offer assistance when needed, and “Object Identification” lets Elmo name items when the cursor hovers over them. Beyond academic skills, the game also introduces social learning elements such as cooperation, empathy, sharing, and good manners.
