shards

shards is a short visual novel about LGBT identity and self-acceptance. The player controls a nameable protagonist who wakes up in an unfamiliar room next to an entity which tells them that they will be allowed to leave if they answer a series of questions. The questions asked by the entity are intended to help the player on their journey of self-acceptance and embrace their chosen identity rather than the identity that society has chosen for them. While most of the questions must be answered by choosing one of several options, there are also some that the player must type their own answer to, so that they can properly get what is bothering them off their chest.
