Shōkōshi Cedie

In this tie-in game to the TV animated series of the same name (itself a loose adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's Little Lord Fauntleroy), you play as Cedric "Cedie" Errol going on a quest to reunite with his lowborn American mother after Earl Dorincourt forcefully separated her from Cedie.

This is a side-scrolling adventure game. Your main obstacles between one objective to the next are tutors, who will chase after you on sight and force you to answer a randomized quiz if they catch you. Other than the side scrolling movement, the game is mostly standard of the Japanese-style adventure genre.
