Sparky's Tangled Tales in Spellingsburg

Game cover: Sparky's Tangled Tales in Spellingsburg

Description

Sparky's Tangled Tales in Spellingsburg is a spelling-focused edutainment game aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 6. The game stars a talking TV set named Sparky in his home of Spellingsburg. There are three modes of play, representing difficulty levels: Hide and Seek, Spelling, and Super Spelling. The first of those is a simple game mode aimed at the youngest players with no spelling involved, while the latter two are identical save for harder words on Super Spelling.

The object of the game is to go around Spellingsburg picking up souvenirs from each of its locales. You must first locate Sparky in the location, and then if you picked Spelling or Super Spelling, you will play a quick minigame in which you are given a visual representation and a hint for the word you need to spell in the form of a video clip. If you can spell the word all the way out without making any mistakes, you will get both of the souvenirs you need, but if you make a mistake, you will only get one. If you make two mistakes, you will get either one or none, depending on what Sparky decides. Once you gather all the souvenirs, they will be placed randomly across a "tangled tale", which is a mad libs story.

The game is fully played with a point and click interface and features a hand-drawn art style. The game also includes two extra video clips to introduce children to the alphabet and phonics.
