Star Trader
Description
Star Trader is a 1-player science fiction-themed resource trading game for the BBC Micro.
The player is in command of an exploration starship. As a member of the Solaric Empire, it is the player's duty to get others to join either as members or as subjects. The ultimate goal is to obtain the advanced super computer from the Super Race, and bring it to the home world of Sol.
The player explores and trades through five star systems, each of which contains several planets. The galaxy is navigated by moving the player's position through a star map. Upon reaching a planet they must enter orbit, where they can trade, mine for fuel, or obtain other resources. The player must maintain repairs on their ship as well as keep fuel, food, water, and air supplies in stock. Friendly races can be asked to join the Solaric Empire, and the player can trade T-1 items, T-2 items, gem stones, and rare metals at these planets.
