Starquest / Encounter

Starquest / Encounter are two games released together for the VIC-20.

Starquest: With Earth's natural resources approaching depletion, you are perched on the edge of adventure. The massive interstellar exploration ship "Starquest" has been built with a new Hyperspace Transitional Drive. The player must choose locations from a navigation chart, and upon arriving there perform a sensor scan of planetary systems present. Upon arrival on the planet the player controls a excursion shuttle craft where they must avoid contact with meteors.

Encounter: A simulation of first contact with an extraterrestrial species. From a moonlight stroll on a lonely hillside you are enticed into a waiting starship. In a state of semi-consciousness, you are probed mentally and physically to test your intelligence and cultural development. The player must solve a number of logic puzzles that are presented to them. If successful, this may lead to a positive first contact with the alien race.
