Submachine 5: The Root

The Submachine series consists of ten games which develop the main storyline and four spin-offs. In the games the player explores a mysterious world full of collapsed structures and strange devices and has to find a way further or out. In Submachine 5: The Root, after having passed a test to become an explorer of the submachine network (message at the end of the previous game), the player is sent by Murtaugh to retrieve some specified items from the Root, power up a machine and investigate far side of the net. This part of the story is then continued in Submachine 6: The Edge. The game is a bit shorter than the previous one.

The 2008 browser version of the game is free. The 2014 HD version for PC is a commercial release.
