Suikoden: Tendō 108-sei

Suikoden: Tendō 108-sei is a historical simulation game based on the classic Chinese novel Water Margin, and a sequel to Bandit Kings of Ancient China. The overall concept and structure are very similar to the previous game, with the player controlling a warlord in 12th-century China, accruing power and popularity with the goal of challenging the corrupt minister Gao Qiu.

This entry brings a greater focus and depth on the simulation mechanics and on individual characters. The main simulation proceeds in real-time, with the player maintaining their stronghold and managing their territory primarily via menu commands. Skirmishes between factions take the form of turn-based tactical battles. The game includes two scenarios available from the start, with a third unlocked after completing either of the first two.
