TempleOS (included games)

Description
TempleOS, creation of Terry A. Davis, is a custom, ring-0 operating system written in a programming language called HolyC (a cross between C and C++). The operating system has gone through multiple different names (J Operating System, SparrowOS, and LoseThos) until it became TempleOS. The operating system's development ended in 2017 after the tragic passing of its creator.
TempleOS does support sound, through the use of Pulse Audio and early DOS-like system beeps that very in tone.
TempleOS comes with multiple different programming demos, documentation, utilities, and games that are not found outside of the Operating System installation. The games are, in general, unique variations of classic games, such as SkiFree, Flappy Bird, Castle Wolfenstein, Battlezone, and more. The games include:
- Titanium - A vertical scrolling arcade shooter like 1942. The goal is to shoot as many enemies as you can. There is no time limit and nothing shoots back at you.
- Black Diamond - A downhill skiing arcade game like SkiFree. The goal is to make it to the bottom of the slope while dodging trees, rocks and wild dogs.
- Flap Bat - A horizontal scrolling arcade game like Flappy Bird. The goal is to eat the bugs until you get to 100%. There are no obstacles nor any enemies to worry about.
- Varoom - An arcade racing game. The goal is to make it around the track as fast as possible while trying to stay on the track.
- FlatTops - A top down arcade strategy game. The goal is to launch fighters to destroy the other aircraft carriers before they destroy the player's.
- Bomber Golf - A top down arcade bomber. The goal is to bomb the 10 enemy tanks below. There are no enemies shooting back nor time limits.
- KeepAway - A Basketball sports game. The goal is to keep the ball away from the other team, earning points by passing the ball or stealing it from the other team.
- RawHide - A top down arcade game. The goal is to corral as many of the animals as possible.
- X-Caliber - A space shooter arcade game. The goal is to destroy the other two fighters before the player is destroyed. The player can also space walk and modify the look of their spacecraft.
- Wenceslas - A top down casual game reenacting some of the events of the song "Good King Wenceslas". The goal is to light bonfires and lead the peasants in Wenceslas's footsteps to the fires to keep warm.
- Battle Lines - A top down war game. The goal is to destroy the other army using attraction and repelling moves with right and left clicks.
- Talons - A flight simulator with a fishing component. The goal is to collect all the fish without hitting the ground.
- Castle Frankenstein - A first person shooter like Castle Wolfenstein. The goal is to kill all the enemies in the level.
- ZoneOut - A first person tank shooter like Battlezone.
- ToTheFront - A wartime strategy game.
- Span - A physics puzzler game. The goal is to build a sturdy bridge across the gap.
- Tree Checkers - A puzzle game.
- Digits - A Simon variant puzzle game. The goal is to memorize the pattern and repeat it back.
