Tengoku to Jigoku

Game cover: Tengoku to Jigoku

Description

Tengoku to Jigoku (translated as Heaven and Hell) is a game-of-life simulator for one to four players, where the aim is to race through the trials and tribulations of life and eventually get married. Each player selects one of four card suits as tokens, and the game starts with everyone on square zero, with 100 units of money. On each player's turn, they select a card numbered 1 to 6. The contents of this card, denoting some life event, moves them forwards or backwards, and affects their money. The progress through the game represents your movement from kindergarten to primary, middle and then high school. Once you have reached square 50, you are given the option of attending university, or going out into the workforce. If your money goes negative at any point, you lose the game. Otherwise, whoever reaches 75 first becomes the winner, and the game continues until all players have either reached the end, or are bankrupt.
