The Ace of Penguins

The Ace of Penguins is a collection of the following games, for the X Window System:

• Canfield Solitaire
• Freecell Solitaire
• Golf (the card game)
• Klondike Solitaire, which is referred to as just Solitaire
• Mastermind: a clone of the code-guessing board game
• Merlin: a game where 9 squares must be each made the same pattern. Selecting one square also toggles adjacent ones.
• Minesweeper
• Pegged: a peg-jumping board game
• Spider Solitaire
• Taipei: a Mahjong Solitaire game
• Thornq: a Solitaire variant by Martin Thornquist

Most are modeled after a similarly-named Windows game, with a few exceptions. Each game uses a similar interface, with embedded help, and keyboard keys to select modes and change options. There is no visible mouse-driven menu during play. All game artwork has a rather visible Tux/free software theme.

Taipei also includes a layout editor for playing with custom board layouts.
