The Black Sage: An Ogre & Orcs Adventure

The Black Sage is a humorous multiple choice text RPG with adventure elements.

The player has found themselves within the Black Sage's Castle, and must successfully escape. The castle consists of 36 individual rooms, each of which contains a multiple choice adventure option. Before each adventure, the player must role their characteristics and outfit themselves with weapons, shields, armor, and magical spells.

Each adventure starts in room #1, where the player encounters a sleeping ogre. Each encounter has 4 - 5 choices. Some choices lead to instant death, while others require attribute rolls to see if the player is successful. The player may also end up in combat, where their statistics, armor, and weapons become important for each round of combat. The player accumulates gold, statistics, and weapons as they adventure. After each room, the player is presented with the option to move to several adjacent rooms, the contents of which are not randomized. The player's goal is to escape the castle, which can be done by several means including destroying a mirror or escaping through a magical fountain.

The player can also encounter the titular Black Sage in one room. After escaping the castle, the player can save their character for future adventures which did not materialize.
