The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx

Description
The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx is an interactive non-fiction book which chronicles the development of Half-Life: Alyx within Valve, as well as the company's other attempts to create a follow-up to Half-Life 2: Episode Two since 2007. The book dives deep into the development of Alyx, examining the decisions made by the production team as well as what it took to pull Valve out of the "wilderness" of the late 2010s in which it seemed that no new games were being released. It is part of author Geoff Keighley's "Final Hours" series, in which he examines the developments of blockbuster games like Alyx.
This book is documented on MobyGames because it includes gameplay elements in the form of interactive puzzles which must be completed in order to access certain parts of it. These puzzles resemble the wire puzzles in Half-Life: Alyx, where the player must rotate pieces of wire with Alyx's multitool in order to connect them and complete a circuit. In addition to this, The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx includes a headcrab sound mixer that lets the player create their own headcrab sound effects, as well as an interactive 3D tour of Valve's offices during the development of the game.
