The Games Room
Description
The Games Room was an internet based service where gamers played against each other in traditional board games. It seems to have been around since 1992 and The Games Room (2.0) is a collection of games that were popular on this site. All the games run in a fixed size window and have sound effects, they can be installed in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese and the purpose of the release is for players to install the games and then play them on-line against other players.
The games are grouped into four categories;* Board Games: Chess, Checkers, Capture the Flag, Four in a Row, Destroyer - a Battleships type game, Dominate - this is based on GO, Hexagon, and Decoder - a Mastermind type game
- Solitaire Games: Pyramid, Golf, Eagle Wing, Eight Off and Strategy
- Card Games: Five Hundred
Also on the CD is the Microforum e-catalogue for 1996 which contains product details and demo versions of Rebel Runner - Operation: Digital Code, Expect No Mercy, Shakii, Iron Blood, and Virtual Corporation. Some of these demo games run in a DOS window.
