The Nine Dancers
Description
The Nine Dancers is a text adventure for the Electron.
There are countless legends related to the numerous megalithic monuments that dot the British Isles. The petrification legend The Nine Dancers tells of an evil enchantress who was so outraged at not being invited to the marriage between a princess and the prince of a neighboring kingdom, that she cursed the princess and eight other dancers to become stone monuments. Heartbroken, the prince approached a local wizard who offered to turn the prince to stone until such time as his beloved could be revived.
The player takes on the role of a local newspaper reporter who has been tasked with writing an article on the stories connected to some of the local tourist sites. The player soon finds themselves in Steignton to gather more information. The player's quest is to seek out the monolith, and find a way to turn the prince and princess back to flesh and blood. All commands are via VERB NOUN entry, and there is a save/restore feature.
